We The Revolt exists because of the gospel: good news to the poor and freedom for the captive. The church holds a central place in the lives of many of the young people and families we serve, and in the reform of the systems around them. Interns on this track build partnerships with congregations and ministries, help churches prepare for re-entry and fatherhood ministry, and support chaplaincy-adjacent care under the direction of credentialed staff and facility chaplains. Ministry here is presence and service, never pressure. Every young person's faith, or absence of faith, is respected.
What we need
- Church partnerships: research, contact and follow up with congregations and ministry networks in your city.
- Partner preparation: help churches plan mentor recruitment, re-entry support and fatherhood circles using our materials.
- Chaplaincy-adjacent support: assist with supervised spiritual care programming, prayer support and family outreach, under the direction of credentialed staff and facility chaplains.
- Faith and justice gatherings: help organize prayer gatherings, pastor roundtables and congregational screenings.
- Records: keep partnership notes and follow-up commitments current.
What we expect from you

- Respect for religious freedom. No young person or family is pressured, and participation in any spiritual activity is always voluntary.
- Confidentiality of pastoral conversations, within the limits of mandated reporting.
- A cleared background check, safeguarding and mandated-reporter training, and any facility clearance required, because the work involves young people.
- The ability to work respectfully across denominations and traditions.

- Experience building and stewarding institutional partnerships with churches.
- Supervised experience in chaplaincy-adjacent care and trauma-informed pastoral practice.
- A written evaluation and a reference from your supervisor, suitable for seminary or ordination files where relevant.
Deliverables
- A partnership map of congregations and ministries in your city, with status and next steps.
- Preparation plans for at least two partner churches.
- One faith and justice gathering, planned and evaluated.
- A theological reflection paper on your field experience.
