What is We The Revolt?
A Christ-centered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that changes culture, restores community and reforms justice. We run programs, the Defining Narratives curriculum institute, documentary film partnerships and a community grants program, from Miami with hubs in Chicago and Houston.
What is Defining Narratives?
Our curriculum institute and a part of We The Revolt. Four programs: the Youth Intervention Program, The Hunt, Legacy: Young Fathers and The Talk. See the curriculums.
Who do you serve?
Young people, young men, fathers and families, starting where the need is greatest: in neighborhoods, in schools and inside the justice system. We also develop young adults as leaders in public service and law.
What is JCVI?
Juvenile Community Violence Intervention: our model for reaching young people at high risk of gun violence at first contact and staying with them through the year after release. Read more.
Do you give grants?
Yes. We fund local nonprofits running mentoring and rehabilitative youth programs. The first grants went to Cook County and Harris County. See grants.
Are you a church?
No. We are a nonprofit rooted in the Christian faith. We partner with churches of many traditions and serve people of every background.
Where does my donation go?
To mentors, curriculum, films, grants and the staff who make it all run. You can direct gifts to the JCVI Fund or the Community Grants Fund. Give.
How do I volunteer?
Apply on the volunteer page. Roles with young people require screening and training.
What is the Daily Brief?
A morning reading of the news on culture, community and justice, credited to the outlets that reported it, with a reflection and a way to act. Read it.
