Our mission

Empowering Communities, Transforming Justice, Celebrating Dignity

At “We The Revolt,” our mission is to foster a society grounded in compassion and justice. Inspired by spiritual principles, we advocate for redemptive justice and uphold values that resonate across cultures and religions. We empower urban Christians to engage constructively in societal debates, ensuring their voices are heard in the public sphere.

We advocate for policies that integrate social justice with moral values, aiming to build equitable communities. We are dedicated to reforming the criminal justice system, focusing on rehabilitation over punishment, and support efforts to reintegrate former inmates, enhancing both community safety and economic stability.

Our commitment extends to addressing critical social issues such as economic security, life ethics, election integrity, and religious freedom, promoting a culture of inclusivity. We also strive to transform the political landscape by fostering civility and respect in civic engagement, creating a culture that honors every individual’s dignity. Through these efforts, we aim to inspire and enact lasting change, creating a more just and compassionate world.

MISSION

Core Mission and Strategies

Redemptive Justice and Universal Values:
Restorative Justice and Integrity: Advocating for a justice that restores and heals, reflecting the teachings of Jesus about forgiveness and redemption. This justice underlines the importance of integrity, familial unity, and strong community bonds, aligning with values that transcend cultural and religious backgrounds. These principles encourage a life of service and compassion, echoing the scriptural call to "act justly and to love mercy" (Micah 6:8).
Policy Influence and Civic Engagement:
We’re here to amplify the voices of the marginalized and urban Christians in political and social discussions, encouraging them to engage fully and constructively. This initiative helps correct the overlooked influence of urban Christians, ensuring they're not just participants but shapers of the public debate. Reflecting the teachings from Matthew 5:13-14, we inspire believers to be the "salt of the earth" and "light of the world." Just as salt enhances flavor and light reveals truth, urban Christians are called to enrich moral discourse and bring clarity in public spaces. By stepping up, they embody the gospel's call for peace and justice, letting their actions speak volumes and direct glory to the higher purpose outlined in Matthew 5:16, which encourages us to let our "light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." This commitment not only strengthens their community but fosters a deeper, more meaningful societal impact.
Integrated Social Justice Initiatives:
In our pursuit of equitable communities, we embrace a comprehensive approach that intertwines social justice with moral principles, ensuring that each initiative not only promotes fairness but also respects the inherent dignity of every individual. This strategy supports broad-based measures that advance justice and equality, reflective of the biblical call in Micah 6:8 to "act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God." By advocating for policies that uphold these values, we commit to a vision of society where justice and moral integrity are the cornerstones, fostering environments where everyone can thrive.
Criminal Justice Transformation:
We are dedicated to reforming the criminal justice system by advocating for significant modifications in probation, parole, and overall system processes, with a focus on rehabilitation and reducing recidivism. Our commitment extends to empowering community initiatives that help reintegrate former inmates, fostering safer, more economically stable environments. These efforts are rooted in the belief that each person deserves a second chance and the support to turn their lives around, aligning with the Biblical principle of restoration found in Galatians 6:1, which encourages us to gently restore those who are caught in wrongdoing.
Advocacy on Critical Social Issues:
Our mission includes vigorous advocacy for economic stability and family support, aiming to alleviate poverty through collaborative community and governmental efforts. We address life ethics comprehensively, advocating for dignity from conception to natural death, and promote policies that protect the sanctity of life. We are also committed to ensuring the integrity of elections and accessibility, supporting everyone's right to vote, while also standing firm on issues of cultural inclusion and religious freedom, ensuring every voice can be heard and respected.
Community Engagement and Transformation of Political Culture:
We encourage active civic engagement that is informed and passionate, yet marked by civility and humility, fostering a culture of respect and thoughtful discourse. Our vision is to transform the political and social landscape into one that honors the dignity of every individual, promoting a culture that values engaged, respectful citizenship. This approach is driven by a desire to see communities flourish in an atmosphere where dialogue and understanding thrive, inspired by Scripture’s call to live peaceably and considerately among all (Romans 12:18).

PILLARS

foundational pillars of our mission

  • Micah 6:8 – Justice, Mercy, and Humility:
    • “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
    • This verse encapsulates the core of “We The Revolt’s” mission. By advocating for justice in political and social realms, the organization embodies the call to “act justly.” Its commitment to compassionate policy-making and community engagement resonates with the command to “love mercy.” And in all its endeavors, the emphasis on humility mirrors the directive to “walk humbly with your God,” acknowledging that true change is grounded in a humble partnership with the divine.
  • Isaiah 1:17 – Advocacy for the Oppressed:
    • “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”
    • “We The Revolt” aligns with this scripture through its active engagement in social justice initiatives. By taking up the cause of the marginalized and speaking for those without a voice, the organization embodies the scripture’s call to defend the oppressed and advocate for the vulnerable in society.
  • Matthew 5:9 – Peacemaking as a Divine Calling:
    • “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
    • This Beatitude reflects the organization’s pursuit of reconciliation and unity within communities. By fostering dialogues and understanding across different sociopolitical divides, “We The Revolt” acts as a peacemaker, aligning with this scripture’s portrayal of peacemakers as blessed and as reflective of God’s children.
  • James 2:14-17 – Faith in Action:
    • “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? … In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
    • This passage reinforces the foundation of “We The Revolt’s” mission – to put faith into action. The organization’s initiatives and programs are concrete expressions of faith, embodying the scripture’s principle that faith is vital and alive only when it manifests in deeds, especially in serving and addressing the needs of others.
