Re-entry Mentor

Walk beside a young person through their first year home.

The months after release are when the risk is highest and support usually ends. Re-entry Mentors stay. You will be matched with a young person coming home from detention or incarceration and meet with them regularly for a year: helping with school or work, court dates and IDs, and the ordinary pressure of starting over in the same neighborhood. Some of our best mentors have walked this road themselves. You will have a coordinator behind you and a community of mentors around you. Because you will work closely with young people, some of them minors, this role requires a background check and agency clearance.
