Volunteer Code of Conduct

We serve young people and families at some of the hardest moments of their lives. Trust is everything. Every volunteer agrees to the following.

Safety first

  • Never be alone with a minor out of sight of another approved adult.
  • No private messaging, social media connections or gifts with young people in our programs outside approved channels.
  • Follow every rule of the facility you are visiting, without exception.
  • Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately to your coordinator and as required by law.

Respect and confidentiality

  • What a young person or family shares stays confidential, except where safety or the law requires reporting.
  • Never photograph, record or post about a young person without written approval from We The Revolt.
  • Treat every person with dignity regardless of their charge, history, faith or background.

Integrity

  • Show up when you said you would. If you cannot, tell your coordinator early.
  • No alcohol, drugs or weapons at any activity.
  • Do not speak to media on behalf of We The Revolt without approval.

Faith

Our work is rooted in Christ. We share our faith with humility and respect and never use it to pressure or manipulate.

Consequences

We may pause or end a volunteer’s service at any time to protect young people or the organization.
