Effective October 2026. This policy explains what We The Revolt, Inc. (“We The Revolt”, “we”) collects through wetherevolt.com, our emails and our text messages, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- What you give us. Name, email, phone number, city or ZIP, and anything you write in a form, such as a volunteer application, a partnership inquiry or a newsletter signup.
- Volunteer screening. For roles that involve minors, we collect references and, with your written consent, a background check through a third-party provider. Results are kept confidential and used only to decide eligibility.
- Giving. Donations are processed by Donorbox and its payment processors. We receive your name, contact details, gift amount and designation. We never receive or store full card numbers.
- Automatic information. Basic technical data such as browser type, pages visited and the campaign link that brought you here (for example UTM codes), used to understand what is working.
How we use it
- To respond to you, process gifts, send receipts and manage recurring giving.
- To review volunteer applications, schedule training and coordinate service.
- To send the Daily Brief, devotionals and updates you ask for.
- To send text messages if you opt in (see below).
- To improve the site and measure our outreach.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (for example email, text messaging, payment and background screening providers), when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Text messages (SMS)
If you check the box to receive texts, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from We The Revolt at the number you provided about volunteering, events, giving and our work. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or donation. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Mobile phone numbers and text messaging consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from newsletters does not stop receipts or messages about a volunteer application you submitted.
Minors
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Information about young people in our programs is handled under separate program confidentiality rules and is never published without the consent required by law.
Your choices
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@wetherevolt.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to records we must keep by law (for example donation records).
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, limit access to people who need it, and keep sensitive screening data separate. No system is perfectly secure.
